Welcome to the Lay Augustinians of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova

Peace be with you!

We are glad you are here!

Who we are

We are a dedicated community of lay men and women striving to be faithful to our Christian vocations under the inspiration of Augustinian Spirituality.

What We Do

We are Contemplatives in Action, characterized by a search for God and interiority, love of neighbor, and life according to the Rule of St. Augustine.

Where we are

The Province of St. Thomas of Villanova serves parishes, schools, and communities on the East Coast of the United States, as well as in Peru and Japan.

Prayer of Saint Augustine. Let us you and I, lay aside all arrogance. Let neither of us pretend to have found the truth. Let us seek it as something unknown to both of us. Then we may seek it with love and sincerity, when neither of us has the rashness or presumption to believe that he already possess it.

Augustinian Spirituality

Our spirituality proceeds from the teachings of the Gospels, the example of St. Augustine, and the tradition of the Order. Augustinian Spirituality has the following attributes:
It is Evangelical: Love of God and neighbor, fueled by the study of Sacred Scripture.
It is Prayerful: Coming to know God and rest in His love through contemplative prayer.
It is Charitable: A joyful devotion of time, talent, and treasure to the service of the Church.
Its axis is Community:  Drawing strength from and giving strength to our brothers and sisters.
